Orlando Int. Airport

Trinity Tile has been supplying the Orlando International Airport with tile and stone for all of their expansions, remodels and repairs since 1996. During this time, we have supplied approximately 500,000 square feet of tile and stone under some very unique circumstances and we have manufactured some custom solutions for them as well.

Originally, we had GranitiFiandre make a special mold to accommodate the special size that the Orlando Airport requested.  As additions and replacements have occurred we took samples from old installations and sent them to a factory in order to match the original tiles that had been in use since the original airport construction. We had 30,000 square feet of tile custom manufactured that blended in perfectly with their original shading. The tiles used are G810 Serena and G840 Adamello. Both the slate and matte textures have been used in different places throughout the airport.

For exterior tiles, the airport has drive through parking areas that required some particular characteristics. We supplied a 6x6 tile in a special thickness, with an aggressive texture that is designed to hold up to vehicular traffic when installed properly.

The stone at the airport is not your average stone either! The airport uses Jura Limestone from Germany. It is known to be the one of the
hardest and most dense limestone's created.  This stone is so dense, that Benjamin Franklin's original Printing press used it as the table where all the printing took place.

In addition to supplying their tile and stone products, we also supplied Schluter transition strips and expansion joints throughout the facility to help protect tile edges and create permanent expansion joints that will hold up to the exceptional abuse of airport traffic.
